well, after about 3 hours, my friend finally figured it out. they aren't
perfect, because they weren't perfect figures to begin with. whoever made
the graphics didn't know what they were doing and they used a combination of
text, word art, some pictures were scanned and then text overlayed-- so
nothing copied into my paper easily. after this nightmare, i am going to
try and get my professor to purchase a drafting package that i can use, and
then know what i have. thank you all for all your help. kari
