As several people have pointed out, tool skills are often what
people search for on a resume.


But, another reason for listing the software you know is that
these skills are not commonplace. There are far more jobs than
experienced writers to fill them, so many jobs are being filled
by people without experience. Listing your skills is one way to
show that you actually have experience.
