Hello,

Can anybody recommend any resources where I can learn about documenting
software specifications? I've checked out Amazon.com, and come up with
the following titles:

- Practical Software Requirements: A Manual of Content and Style by
Benjamin L. Kovitz
- Software Requirements & Specifications : A Lexicon of Practice,
Principles and Prejudices (Acm Press Books) by Michael Jackson

If anyone can provide me with feedback on these books, I would
appreciate it. I've tried to search for examples of software
specifications on the Web, but to no avail. Any suggestions? I've
decided to look into this b/c a marketing writer was asked to write a
White Paper, and she just found out there are no specs to work from, so
she essentially ran away screaming "I can't work with nothing." Now I'm
expecting to be asked to add writing software specifications to my
repertoire, because you know, I have nothing else to do (cha, right).
The marketing writer is huddled in a corner, licking her wounds...
imagine working with nothing (what I do everyday) *grin*......

thanks in advance,
Susie Pearson
