As Michele Marques pointed out, the solution in FM for conditional chapters is
to have two book files. I have solved the problem she raises (of having possible
xrefs to the unused chapters) as follows.
Each book has a file with the conditions set correctly (Usually a title page)
for that book and conditional text is used through out all files (thus
identifying any xrefs to conditional chapters and other conditional text/info).
Printing is the correct version of a book is as follows:
1: Open correct version of book.
2: Import conditional text settings from Title page file to all files in book.
3: Generate/Update Book.
4: Print.
