Cheese Louise, Graham, we didn't mean to chase you off TECHWR-L. Please
don't overreact and stop posting. Just pause and consider the scope and
effects of your requests for information; does that seem reasonable?
Remember the First Commandment of Technical Writing: Thou Shalt Remember
Write out your requests. Let them sit for a day or so. Then imagine
yourself busier than a one-legged man trying to stomp out a brush fire in an
ammo dump. And then...imagine yourself as that busy person reading Graham's
email. "What's Graham want? Is it a request I can reasonably fulfill
without much impact on my 'real' work? Is it something Graham ought to try
on his own anyway?" Does the request seem as if he didn't even use a search
engine, USENET, or the TECHWR-L archives first?"
Heck, we love to answer questions. That's why we're in this racket. Just
remember: Try on your own *at least a little* and don't get too greedy.

Subject: My Appologies.
What can I say? I started communicating with professional Technical
writers and, for a while, I was getting a very positive response. I was
learning a lot about the Technical Writer -- things I couldn't learn in
class. I was excited and felt confident. I was under the impression
that I was doing well, liaising with and extracting information from
professionals -- I even managed to get a couple of online interviews. I
guess I was so excited about the responses I was getting (I thought at
first I'd get none) that I got a little more brazen each day. I hope
you'll except my apologies for my most recent, poorly construed,
questions. I'll post no more.
