I missed the beginning of this thread -- but, having been a featured speaker at various technical conferences, I have to say that I can't even imagine PAYING them to "let" me speak.

At the conferences in which I participated, each attendee received both a fat binder comprised of written presentations from each of the speakers, and a diskette containing any programs/utilities involved with their presentation.

Do you have any idea how long it took me to perfect my utilities and document them to ensure that they would work for others? Or to provide a professional write-up and submit both in the timeframe and media required?

I was thrilled to participate, and delighted to be able to share. But pay them to do so?
NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
