I'm not an expert, but I have dealt with the issue a couple of
times. So far as I know, there are no major differences between the
US and Canada in the treatment of copyright. Both countries are
signatories to international copyright agreements. And, anyway, if
you're doing business in the US, you would probably want to conform
to US practices.
