Before kids, we used to do some dinner parties with various themes. I
would borrow several principles from my techwriting life to plan
things out. My favorite technique, which my wife still gibes me about,
was to do a Gantt chart showing when all the various cooking phases
should start. This actually did ensure that all the food was at the
proper temperature when it reached the table - and that we didn't
forget to bring something out! It also showed when extra burners were
needed to keep things hot. We had to rent a warming tray.
