Ian, et al:

"ISD" is "Instructional Systems Design" (sometimes "Instructional Systems
Development"), also known as TSD (Training Systems Design/Development) or
SAT (Systems Approach to Training). It refers to a simple (on the surface)
five-step process of developing training systems: analysis, design,
development, implementation, and revision. Each of these steps involve more
complex processes (analysis, for example, involves needs analyses, job
analyses, and task analyses), sufficient to keep even the most anal process
wonk happy while the rest of us can get the real work done.

I asked someone this self same question a few days ago. Unfortunately, I
didn't get a reply.

Can anyone shed some light?
