Steve, font smoothing and setting type are not the same thing. And even
though I use Word regularly and prefer it for many purposes over some other
tools, most notably PageMaker (yes, I know one's a word processor and one's
a DTP program! <g>), I really have to agree with Geoff that Word isn't great
at setting type (kerning, tracking, etc.).
