On the other hand, you can get educational discounts on
Photoshop and I've seen it every time I turn around.
I've also had to use it, specifically, for at least
three jobs where they were using the writers for both
writing and DTP with existing documents, or working web
design.

So I think your students will need it, and it can be
justified.
