It's a matter of granularity. If I can break my tasks down to single-step
tasks, then I'll cover all the various ways to do that one thing. Then, when
I need to do that task, I will reference the subordinate task not the actual
steps. But, if I don't break things down to that level of granularity, I
will only describe one way to do it, and leave the alternatives to reference
content, curiosity, and the UI.

I for one pick up alt-keys very slowly. A list would kill me. But, the legal
secretaries I used to work for preferred WordPerfect, because of it's
alt-key, speed typist interface. Touch typing 200 words per minute including
all the function use was pretty impressive. Like everything else in this
business, it depends on the audience.
