Yes, my post was about hiring an editor. And yes, I agree that someone can be a good enough writer without having the level of knowledge I am wistfully searching for in an editor. And yes, I agree that knowing something is better than knowing only where to look it up, but the older I get the more things I know that turn out not to be true when I get around to looking them up so maybe I don't entirely agree after all he said without once inhaling because he never smoked so there.
