Does anybody on this list use your technical communication
skills in fields other than software, hardware, or
networking?

I've used my skills as Chair of our School Council to prepare the Council Constitution and Bylaws (new school) as well as newsletter to the community and presentations to the board. I've prepared a handbook outlining each position on the executive and the expectations/responsibilities of each.

I've used them in the same way as Trustee of our Public Library Board.

I've also prepared Yearbooks (great way to become more familiar with graphics) and also instruction booklets for friends and family to help them learn more about their PC's and their particular programs (in friendly language and just what they need to know). I know they can read the help or pick up a book, but for some reason they claim they understand it better when I explain it. Writing out the instructions prevents me from having to explain it over and over.

BTW, I was an ISTJ on the Meyer-Briggs, but I found that out long after I become what and who I am, so it played no part in career choice.
