I don't see anything to be concerned about here. Design patents (the ones starting with "D-") are for particular graphic renditions rather than for architectural features; and the regular patents described in the article are for some drag-and-drop features that sound, from the way I'm reading the descriptions, quite different from, say, Dreamweaver's model.
