The threads about job hunting and portfolio building could not have come
at a better time for me.

I love the job I have here in Ireland, but I am going to move to Sweden
as soon as possible (that is, as soon as I have organised a new job
there). The reason is: my partner (she is Swedish) is going to go to
college.

I would like to ask a 100% selfish favour. Are there any Swedish members
on the list who could give me tips on finding a job? I would like to
live in Lund, right down in the south, but I could then happily work in
either Lund or Malmö.

I'm taking an evening course in Swedish. 90 minutes a week doesn't add
up to a whole lot, however, so things will be complicated by my
(initial) lack of Swedish. Although this will obviously make things
difficult, do you think it will be a show-stopper?

On a more general note, does anyone have any experience of working
through English in a non-anglophonic country to share?

You may, of course, mail me off-list if you think that's better.
