The ability to make such decisions on our own. I replied only because my
MSMoS was lying open not 2 feet fom my chair. These questions of "what
should I call this" or "what is the technical name for" can really be
answered (most of the time) by a simple Web search or a quick glance at a
reference book's index. As people who's job it is to track down info and
repurpose it for a specific audience, I think we should all know such basic
skills as how to conduct an effective Web search or how to use an index,
BEFORE resorting to a mailing list. After all, we're all busy, mostly
tracking down info of our own. And I can't stress enough that just because
one person/organization/group standardizes one way, it's not necessarily the
right way for all scenarios. We need to take our own needs and our
audience's needs into consideration and really determine what it is we
should deliver. So... if the dot fits, doc it. ;)
