Translation: Must be able to grab information anyway it comes and use it
in any way required.

Translation: again, must be able to do anything that's asked.

Think of the field as a Venn diagram (you know, those overlapping
circles that show the relations between sets in math). In the center is
a core of skills, such as writing, organizing information, and using a
word processor. Overlapping this core are dozens of other skills that
might be included in a tech-writer's job, such as web development,
interface design, marketing, and media relations. At any given job, you
might expect to have some of these overlapping skills, but probably not
the same ones from job to job.
