I agree with Elna completely. We are seeing our big projects cancelled
because all outsourcing has been cancelled. We are aggressively marketing
for the first time ever and things are still not great. We have had 2 good
(actually our best ever, go figure) quarters but the 30-60 day forecast is
not looking good. However, we are also seeing the tiny signs that things may
be getting better. At least the phone is ringing with calls asking if we
were to do the docs for a project they might be doing, what would that be
like? Which is mile better than the last 3 months. Our bread and butter
clients have kept us alive this quarter. Thank god for them.

That said, getting payment is another issue. We are seeing accounts that
always paid in 30 days taking up to 90 days and only the threat of legal
action seems to be forcing a check - a step I hate. We have already made a
client angry today because I issued a stop work order this week for Monday
if they do not become current. They are about 2 weeks from product shipment
and very unhappy with me and the accountant, but what choice do I have? The
accountant told me what we were doing and I could not disagree with her.

All consulting companies I know are in the same boat. Just hunker down and
wait it out.

| The good news is that if you can wait it out, conventional wisdom has it
that
| the job situation should turn late this summer or in the fall. We're
already
| seeing itty bitty signs of what could be a change.
