Good morning from Ireland,

On the weekend I attended the mediocre animated film "Shrek". I stayed to
watch the credits--I thought I had recognized one of the singers, and
noticed that there were three technical writers credited. Given this was an
computer-animated film, I imagine these writers were documenting animation
or related software. As I understand it, customized software is often
developed for a particular film (for example, the water-rendering software
for "The Perfect Storm").

I've worked on animation programs before, but for computer games, not
feature films (though, in principle, the software is pretty much the same).
Does anybody on the list work in the film industry or a related field?

I just thought I'd mention it. Being both a cinephile and a technical
writer, I don't find that these interests meet very often. Cheers. DB.
