Like it or not, some employers will base job offers on your current/most
recent salary (I've been told that the defense industry has an unwritten 10%
rule). Many of these companies are unwilling to budge very far from the
same pay range. If you sell yourself short this time, be prepared to have
future potential employers devalue your worth.
