By popular demand, I'm giving a brief summary of what I found out about upgrading Word while using RoboHelp. I learned the following:

1) Make sure your version of RoboHelp is compatible with the version of Word you are upgrading to.

2) You must unistall RoboHelp, install the new version of Word, then reinstall RoboHelp.

3) From RoboHelp's own online help, you should save the RoboHelp DOT file. I don't remember exactly what it says, but if you do a search for upgrading Word, you'll find a few topics that are helpful. I checked around in the eHelp knowledge base and I couldn't find anything on upgrading Word. Maybe someone out there will have better luck.

4) Keep previous versions of Word installed on at least one machine. That way, you will be sure to be able to update old help projects. (Just about everyone who responded suggested this, so I'm assuming it's pretty important.)

5) Expect formating and linking problems when you update Word and open projects created with older versions.

Pretty bleak, eh? Does anyone know if eHelp has made it a priority to fix upgrade problems?

Cheers
