Hi Lisa,

I'm in the SF Bay area. I'll recount my experience. I am a contract writer
with 20 years experience. My contract ended in March, I got married in
April, and didn't seriously start looking until June. Well, now it's mid
August. IMHO, the contracts here have dried up, exceept for API/SDK
experienced writers. I (and other contractors) have been looking for an FTE
position. There are still pleanty of jobs advertised, but what used to be
listed as "requirements and nice to haves and plusses", are now all
"requirements". I've also noted that the salary/hourly rates offered are
down about 15% from last year this time. I haven't given up hope yet, but
things are not encouraging.

Best wishes,

Marc
