You probably know this, but, in case you don't: there are editors that are
intermediate between text editors and WYSIWYG environments, such as Bluefish and
Coffeecup. In these editors, you can select items from menus, including details
such as the number of rows and columns in tables, but you are always working
within the code itself.

I'll second that. In addition to speeding up the process, you can also LEARN HTML by using these tools. That's harder to do with a WYSIWYG editor. HotDog Pro also used to be a great HTML editor, but I recall that later releases weren't quite so clean.
