You're right, Bruce; and CC is mistaken.

Several years ago, I worked at a company
(in Florida) that is now defunct. A
couple of years after I left, I spoke
with another tech writer (a guy) who had
been in the same department. Much to my
surprise, I learned that I had been
making $3,000 - $5,000 a year *more*
than he was.
