Whirlers:

Thanks tons for the very helpful replies about my problems with Betty. After slogging through the second draft of one of her documents, I think it is apparent that she'll just never get it. I found exactly three sentences in a 15 page document that didn't have to be rewritten somehow. Doesn't bode well for the future, I fear.

I think her previous manager never gave her any feedback, positive or negative, so Betty's warnings and probationary period will start now with this project. In a few weeks my manager and I are going to fly to see her and talk about her work. I still feel that I need to give her as much feedback as possible to help her improve. But I also feel the writing is on the wall, so to speak.

Anyways, thanks again. You guys are great!

WW
