Yes. In fact, I saved the emails from the last go-round in order to settle
an argument at my job. I prettied up the emails and put them in a one long
Word document. It ran the gamut from "appears conjures up mystical
connotations," to "no that is not true - that argument came from years ago
when IBM was concerned about localization issues" to the, "transitive
versus non-transitive argument, in that 'displays' as a non-transitive verb
is only used for some animal that is showing itself - I forget which one -
for mating, or something of that nature" to "if you used it in the passive,
that is not good because passive is to be avoided" to "no, that is not true,
it is perfectly fine to use the passive in many situations" and on and on. I
still have this Word doc if anyone wants to see it. You might see your own
email in there (chuckle).

I did not use this for any other purpose other than to settle an argument
with someone here at my job who is not longer here. It has sat on my hard
drive ever since.
