Be happy that you're being edited/proofed by another set of eyes! Many doc
teams lack the resources to do so.

If the proofreader were going to have arbitrary powers of editing, you
might have something to worry about, but the way you described it, they've
established very clear parameters for her.

I guess you'll find out A) how well defined your styles are and B) how
well you're adhering to them, when you undergo scrutiny by an impartial
reader.

It's win/win, really. Just relax, and do your job. And remember, your job
is what you're asked to do, not what you'd like to do. In a good job,
those areas overlap a lot. Rarely do they completely coincide. That's why
they pay us.

Also, be careful about how you discuss this with your superiors - your
disdain is obvious, and might not be well-received. Calm down, and enjoy
the additional resource - I think you're lucky!
