I agree with you. Enjoy your job. In this economy, none of us has a "sure
thing." Just take the job one day (or one project) at a time, prepare
yourself financially in case there is a sudden change, and lower your stress
level.

I worked short-term contracts for a long time until I found the right fit.
Many on this list have had similar experiences.
