It actually has nothing to do with TECHWR-L. This list is mirrored to a
public newsgroup: bit.listserv.techwr-l. There are numerous organizations
and individuals who harvest these groups for email addresses, to bombard
you with spam.
However, according to a recent post I saw on the public newsgroup, it
looks like bit.listserv is going to stop mirroring TECHWR-L. Hence, no
more email harvesting. Perhaps Eric knows more about this.
I might also note that to those people that post to bit.listserv.techwr-l,
your posts do not get distributed to the listserv, and from what I can
tell very few people read it using that public newsgroup. Most people
apparently either read it through email or through Eric's newsserver:
lists.raycomm.com.
