Christine,

What problems is the update supposed to correct? Since upgrading to Acrobat
5, I get the following error message when starting Frame (another Adobe
product):

Cannot initialize API client C:\Program
Files\Adobe\FrameMaker5.5\fminit\esfmdde.dll.
Check for errors in the APIClients section of C:\Program
Files\Adobe\FrameMaker5.5\C:\Program
Files\Adobe\FrameMaker5.5\maker.ini,verify that the client program exists,
and make sure you have enough swap space to run the client.

Frame starts and runs with no apparent problems after this error message
appears. I'm not certain there's a connection between upgrading Acrobat and
the Frame error, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Thanks,
Steve

If you have Acrobat 5 and you're having problems, make sure you get
the upgrade to 5.0.5:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/update.html

We just installed it here and found that
(1) it fixes a glitch that was distorting graphics in printed PDFs,
and
(2) it installs the Create PDF macro (a.k.a. the PDFMaker toolbar
button) in Word even if your copy of Word is on a network drive that
you can't write to.
