Tricky one to answer, though on thought "Compensation" won out as the area of greatest improvement.

But that was acommpanied by some serious growth in writing skills, industry knowledge, visibility and recognition, and organization skills.

And growth in compensation follows some very heavy duty development in tool skills in 2000.

We've updated the TECHWR-L Poll with a new question:

As a technical writer, which aspect of your professional life did you most improve in 2001?

* Writing skills
* Technology skills
* Tool skills
* Industry knowledge
* Interpersonal relations
* Visibility and recognition
* Compensation
* Research and learning skills
* Organization/self-discipline skills
* Other/none of the above
