Get in touch with the programs directly:

* I got my MS from the Department of Language Literature and
Communication department at RPI in Troy, New York
[http://www.llc.rpi.edu]. It seemed like an adequate program at the very
least.

* Have hear great things about the program at Texas Technical University
[also known as Texas Tech] in Lubbock Texas.

* Carnegie Mellon is also well-respected in the field.

See:
http://www.stc.org/scripts/school/search_results.asp?state=1&program=phd&Submit=Submit
for a full list of programs that the STC knows about.

Sabahat.
