I'm not really sure this will solve your problem, but it might:
With WebWorks, you can embed a series of TopicAlias markers in the document you
use to create the online help (just like you would an index marker), and the
developer ties the same TopicAlias to a particular GUI component. In theory,
this would mean that the online help would display for only those GUI components
that are present (and selected) at any given time.
