My portfolio contains a lot of newspapers and odd sized projects that

Before you send a valuable piece of work into a black hole, request a company purchase order for the portfolio value. Type up an Invoice for the value of the portfolio and contents and enclose it addressed to the company care of the person who is supposed to review the portfolio. (Always ask who will review the portfolio and what their function is.)

Payment or portfolio (in some stipulated condition - good, say.) is due within a mutually agreed upon time limit. Then, send a well-labled neat REPRODUCTION along with prepaid return packaging and directions.

It is also good if you can provide dated samples ( with your coordinates) for their files. Your name and coordinates should appear on every piece.
