Gang,

OF COURSE I am not advocating claiming work I did not do as a sample of my own work! Andrew's point (unless I misunderstood him), to which I was responding, was that anything other than completely new work written from scratch was not writing.

My point was that a technical writer does compose material from scratch, and also edits, rewrites, corrects, restructures, and indexes (and a million other things).

Sheesh!
