I am truly puzzled. What did Steve write that was so offensive?

He was speaking in vernacular, "surfer dude", if you will. So what? It wasn't like it didn't contain helpful advice. It did. Further, I couldn't see anything about his apology that made it any less sincere than yours, Keith.

As my Australian friends frequently point out, there are different cultural mores in operation. Language that USers would consider vulgar is a bit more common. I, myself, was a bit shocked to hear my university colleagues' children using 'fuck' on a regular basis--at home.
