His name is Andy Richter. There's a story about it on Page 6 of the March
issue of Intercom, magazine of the Society for Technical Communication. He
also talked about it just a little last night on The Daily Show on the
Comedy Central network on cable TV.

Nashville May 5-8 is on page 36 of the same issue.)

I don't watch a lot of TV, but I listen to the radio every day as I fight
with morning rush-hour traffic... this morning the morning show jockeys were
talking about a new sit-com about to hit the airwaves - have you heard of
it? (I forget what it's called, but it stars a guy - Paul Richter, I think
it was - who apparently used to be the sidekick for Conan O'Brien...).

The radio station played a little soundbite of the star of the show
explaining its basic premise [paraphrased]: "It's about a guy with a very
vivid imagination who's stuck in this mundane, dreary job all day long, and
because his career path is so dull, he finds his imagination running wild,
etc., etc..."

Turns out, he plays an aspiring novelist who is "stuck" working as a
technical writer at some high tech shop.

Finally, a show that speaks to US.

All the more reason to put the ol' novel on hold - now I have a TV show to
