Decades ago, when I was doing my student teaching in a local high school, my
supervising teacher told me always to stand and move around the room when
teaching. "Remember," she said, "it's harder to hit a moving target."

Really, isn't it the culture of the company that determines this
"requirement" to stand up when presenting? Personally, I think it's a crock
(at best) or a smokescreen (at worst) to hide their real motives. Huh? Who's

One year I racked up my knee skiing, and when I had to teach or present, I
sat down and didn't make an issue of it. I think the audiences were more
comfortable and less distracted when they didn't have to look at my
"megaleg" brace. But sitting down or parking my butt on the table didn't
affect my teaching in any negative way.

Just some random thoughts.
