RE: Study: Internet Explorer Dominates the Web
Netscape does not support ActiveX and a whole bunch of other (questionable necessary) HTML features.
I can understand sticking with Netscape if you are forced to use UNIX or any of its cousins, but why limit yourself with Netscape, Opera, Mozilla, or any of the other wannabe browsers when Internet Explorer works well and is free?
From: Nora Merhar
I assume that the main reason
that IE is used so often is that it's there--whereas you have to make an
effort to get another browser. I'm using Mozilla, which Netscape is based
on. It's much faster than Netscape.
Ah, a free browser.
No, IE is not free. Why do you think Windows OS costs have gone up regularly? Why hasn't the price of the OS dropped?
Could it be because by buying the OS you are paying for the "free" software that is bundled with it?
