Nevermind my original question:

It is very interesting that few technical writing craftsmen (2 offlist)
have commented on this aspect of our craft. Instead, we seem intent on
pursuing the economics of offshore authoring, whilst adding no new
discussion, a withering debate on quotation marks, and other things,
like the perennial debate about the STC's connection to the working
world, that I take as a curious reflection on the profession.

Are we only doing online stuff anymore, do any of us know the craft of
"printing," and, do we care? Are books and printing a tertiary (or
lower) concern?

Perhaps my thoughts about what a technical writer is are skewed?

Cheers,

Sean
