Don't forget, those are supported solutions. If you bypass those canned,
proven approaches, you will have something ad-hoc and particular to UPS
that will require in-house expertise and support. Home-grown is a
solution. But, remember, at the outset of this thread, your stated plan
was for this thing to be self-sufficient without you, after you leave in
6 months, because you "have watched my brethren design, build, implement
and walk away from every sort of failed documentation scheme." In light
of this last statement, maybe a canned approach would be better?
