You did not mention who will be reading your documents. Nearly everyone
working for the military know what a Julian date is. It is a term meaning
day of the year, preceeded by the last digit of the year (ex: 02304). It is
so commonly used that if you try to call it something else, it would only
confuse them more. In the U. S. Navy it is called "sailor proofing".
