Erika,

I think the major problem is that you asked about Web applications, exclusive of Web sites. Web applications tend to run on an intranet or to be otherwise restricted to licensed (i.e., paying) users. There's no way to simply post a URL for you to check out.

To address your second question, in a Web application, you can certainly have context sensitivity, TOC, index, and search tabs.
