I've heard it said (by Kathy Condon, a career specialist), that one should
answer with something concrete and specific, not with a personality trait.
Her example is to say something like, "I've found that I can be more
productive if I improve my XXTool skills, so I'm taking a class to get
myself up to speed." Kathy says that this turns the question away from
personality traits (which aren't problems to be solved), and conveys the
idea that you're a problem-solver.

Hi All,

I am guessing this question had been addressed before,
just did not find it in the archives. When the
interviewer asks the candidate about his/her
weaknesses, what kind of responses does one reply
without the risk of sounding negative and not be
considered for the position.

If we try to make a positive look as a negative, would
that serve any purpose? Is there some approach to this
question and what are the options?

Thanks in advance,
