Well, you had the nastiest case of Word to Frame conversion. I understand your
pain.
Judicious use of find replace on returns, turn smart spaces on and spell check,
then creating and then pasting paragraph styles can greatly ease the pain.

In your case, the task would have been easier if the document was first
correctly formatted with styles in word and then imported into a Frame doc with
corresponding formats (and after turning numbering off in Word).
