eviewilcox -at- cs -dot- com is "trying to create dictionary style headers in Word" and wonders whether it's possible.

Nobody likes to hear RTFM, but here's what I found by typing "dictionary-style" on the Index tab of Word's online help and checking the first topic listed:

Print dictionary-style page headers
---------------------------------------------------------------

You can print at the top of each page the first and last items
that appear on that page--for example, the first and last names
that appear on a page in a membership directory. First use a
style (a paragraph style or a character style) to format the
names in the document. Then insert two STYLEREF fields in the
document header.

The first field should contain the STYLEREF field and the style
of the items on the page--for example, { STYLEREF HEADING 1 }.
The second field should contain the STYLEREF field, the style
of the items on the page, and an \l switch--for example,
{ STYLEREF HEADING 1 \l }. The \l switch instructs the field
to search from the bottom of the page to find the first text
formatted with the style you entered in the field. When you
print the document, the first and last names on each page
appear in the header on that page.

Hope that helps. ;)
