xv is okay. I see someone else posted the URL. It's a little clunky, but
it works fine.

Have you tried what's already available on your system? There is a
screen capture command in just about every Unix OS. I forget the name. I
used it for years, running it with scripts. And the Solaris desktop has
a capture utility; maybe yours does too.
