Oh come on, Sean, we've done this little dance 10,000 times.

Of course you're right. But if you spend 75% of your time developing the
"established structure" and 25% of the time focusing on content, then something
is out of whack. And based off what writers talk about, what is given all the
time in publications, and what I have seen out there in the real world - many
writers are putting about 50% to 75% of the effort into style and structure
issues.

IMO: Building, developing, and managing the "established structure" should
consume a very small fraction (like 10% or less) of a writer's time.
