In this case, the underlying probability theory is something many of us learned in high school math, so it's not really that complicated.


The probability is not complicated, but thinking through a problem
without making assumptions is difficult.

(Your assuption is that the 2nd choice of door is made at random.
If it is, then the chance of winning is 50-50. However, if you
always choose the door you did not choose before - i.e. make a
non-random choice - you can lift your chance of winning to 2/3.)
